Piri Piri traces its origins to Portuguese culinary tradition, known for its vibrant heat, bright acidity, and garlic-forward character. With Lion’s Mane Piri Piri, we honour those foundations—then elevate them through thoughtful Canadian craftsmanship and an unexpected twist.
At the heart of the sauce is fermented chili heat, delivering a lively yet controlled warmth that lands at a balanced 4/10. The fermentation process builds depth and subtle tang, creating the layered complexity that defines every Heartbeat sauce.

Founded in 2015, Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. began as a personal passion project in Thunder Bay and quickly evolved into an internationally respected producer. Every recipe is developed, fermented, cooked, bottled, and packaged in-house at our dedicated facility in the South Core of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
We ferment our peppers using traditional methods before blending them with a carefully selected list of premium ingredients. We never add water, thickeners, extracts, or chemical preservatives—ensuring a sauce that is pure, vibrant, and naturally balanced.
